Essence is an apartment development in Sydney’s Double Bay. An exercise in designing and building smaller-scale luxury residences, the simple design responds to Double Bay’s surrounding heritage and natural materiality.
Bringing two buildings together as one, Essence features sandstone walls, a local reference to the linking pathways through the suburb. A mixture of stucco plaster and hardwood timber finishes the upper levels of the buildings, which are set among lush, leafy landscaping. Perched on the upper slopes of Double Bay, residents enjoy views of Sydney Harbour, which harmoniously brings together a design-led by local context and natural beauty.
Essence is a true quality build. From the concrete filled walls to the interior materials, it shows a high-quality outcome on a smaller scale for Time & Place. Most buyers were owner/occupiers and extremely happy with their new homes, which is always nice to see.
